On the Move? OPD Office Relocation Guide

Moving offices can feel like a big task so having just gone through it ourselves we know how much easier it is with the right planning, support and a few hot tips. Whether you are preparing for a shift or in the middle of one - below is a guide of what worked for us.

Failing to plan is planning to fail
One of the best things we did was that we started planning early. We assigned a move lead mapped out key dates then got everyone across the plan which made a huge difference.
Hot tip: Create a checklist and timeline to keep everything moving literally. It kept the move stress free and the team on the same page.

Does the item spark joy? During our recent office move, we decluttered by clearing out old stationery, furniture and tech. We even donated surplus stationery and product samples to local schools in need.

Rethink your space
We also used the move to upgrade a few things including ergonomic chairs, functional desks and better kitchen storage.

Tech takes time
Moving devices and setting up connectivity took us longer than we expected. We made sure we had extra cables, labels, and extension cords on hand.

Settling in took a few days, but once we were unpacked and connected, it felt good to be in a new space. We added a few plants, new signage and restocked the tea and coffee station.
